Theseus and the Minotaur comic

Final project for comic class. My twist on the Greek myth of Theseus and the Minotaur. Got a lot more comfortable with inking on this one. Enjoying it more, which is a big step for me. :) (didn't really like ink before, got really frustrated with it).

and because I am a process nut, here is a pencil page.

Did a lot more work on this thing since last update. Printed the middle plate which already had background texture on it (used the back of an old plate from last year). So added some textures to backgrounds of other two plates. Did some experimenting with splattering mineral spirits. :)  Also used some sandpaper.

This is what the prints looked like before scraping the plates with sandpaper. Too clean for what I wanted.

Page one of dinosaur comic coloured! hooray! Had lots of fun colouring. Also went smoother once I got some help with the fade fill technique. 

Larry the Minotaur

Some concept sketches for my main character for our next comic project. Still working on the story for this one... getting a little stuck. But this is Larry the Minotaur. He likes to cook. :)  

Story is loosely based on the Greek myth of Theseus and the Minotaur.

the big kahuna

The head portion of this creature-thing I am printing. Largest plate I have etched so far... was kinda scary. But also exciting.
