this is a collage i did for my portfolio. The topic was "explorations of identity, gender issues, stereotypes". This is what came out of my head, i guess challenging the default dress code for men and women. And what is perceived as "girly" or "masculine". That's what i was trying to get at with the patterns anyway. Mind you women can get away with wearing a suit a lot easier than a guy wearing a dress. Not fair, really.
some of my prelim "sketches". Had to re-size some of the heads so they fit on the bodies. And had to take out advertising starbursts and crap. Lots of photoshop fun! I cut out the pictures from magazines first and matched them up by hand (just to get away from the computer for a bit). The patterns at the top are origami paper and patterned scrapbooking paper.
